Project Impact Summer Service Camp 2023
Student Hands On Thomas County is proud to present Project IMPACT Summer Service Camp, June 5-9, 2023. Open to rising 6-9th graders, Project IMPACT is a week of fun and hands-on volunteer service.

MLK Service Day 2023 Recap
We started the new year under a beautiful winter sky as we honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Projects were scheduled all weekend long, from January 14-16, and focused on literacy, hunger, human services and unification.

Fond Farewell to our Summer Outreach Intern
Over the course of the summer, I really enjoyed my time with Hands on Thomas County. Through the Impact ROI internship program, I was given the opportunity to learn more about myself and Thomas County. My favorite part of the internship was by far all of the people I met in the community during the summer.

I’m sad to say that my summer of outreach is coming to an end. And what a great last week of volunteering it was!
Summer Youth Outreach – Week 3
This week was all about the animals! From domestic to wild, each youth organization this week got the chance to help or work with animals.

Youth Outreach – Week 2
After a busy first week of outreach, I was excited to get back into it with two more service projects this week. Going with a theme of senior outreach, I took two youth groups to two different facilities that serve seniors in our community: Scott Senior Center and Legacy Village.

Outreach 2022 – Week 1
Overall, this week was a great way to start my summer of outreach. I enjoyed spending time with kids from each of the youth organizations and can’t wait to see them to volunteer again soon!

MLK Service Day 2022 Recap
t was a wonderful start to the new year as we honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 17. More than 506 volunteers participated on this national and federal holiday through service projects that focused on literacy, hunger, human services, and unification.

Last Week of Impact Outreach
I never thought that my summer of community service projects would come to an end, but here we are. While I have two more weeks of my internship, my last service project is in the books.
Week 3 – Impact Outreach
After two weeks of recharging, we are back at it again! I can definitely say it is good to be back. I was able to get right back into the groove and focus on the two service projects I had this week with The Boys and Girls Club and Vashti’s Ventures and Connections.

When it rains, it pours! And it sure did pour the week of June 21st, but the rain didn’t keep us down during our second week of Project Impact Outreach. Boy, our summer of service just keeps getting better and better!
