Make Valentine’s Day even sweeter for our local seniors by creating cards of love and support!
Hands On Thomas County will be collecting cards of love, support and inspiration that will be given to local senior citizens as a way to brighten their day and uplift their spirits. This project is a simple act of kindness that can have a lasting impact!
Bring completed items to the HOTC office (120 E. Monroe Street) by Wednesday, February 8. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Students needing service hours for school will receive 1 hour for the successful completion of 10 homemade cards (max 1 hour). Store bought cards will not be accepted.
Please do not drop off or contact the beneficiary agencies. Projects/items will ONLY be accepted at the HOTC office.

The Friends of Lost Creek Forest are looking for volunteers to help with maintaining the Thomasville Pollinator Garden on Mondays from 4:00 p.m. to dark and on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m.-Noon. You can learn about native plants and pollinators, and spend time with others in a great outdoor environment. Any age is welcome but HOTC does require any volunteers under the age of 16 to be accompanied by an adult. Bring loppers and work gloves if you have them. You are not required to stay the full length of time. Come when you can and stay for however long you would like.

Thomasville History Center has redesigned its Annual Meeting, now known as Show & Tell! They need the help of volunteers to host 10 stations that will showcase artifacts donated to the History Center in 2022. They will brief you with information about the artifact at your station and general information about the event. You will also receive a crash course in proper object handling so that you can coach visitors through the process.
If you would prefer to be on call to help welcome visitors to the Lapham-Patterson House for their self-guided tours, we would also appreciate your assistance!
Requirements: Some standing, interaction with the public and wayfinding.
