Our last day of Project Impact summer service camp was all about reaching out, making new friends, sharing smiles and stories, and making someone’s day a little brighter. The morning was spent at Scott Senior Center. The kids cleaned and organized closets, swept the front and back patios, and made cards and fans in preparation of the arrival of the seniors. Once they arrived, the kids did a great job of greeting, introducing themselves and just being friendly. When we left, hugs were shared and everyone’s day was off to a great start! In the afternoon we met a group from the Boys & Girls Club at the skating rink. We divided up into buddies and skated with our new friends. While there, we learned our Boys & Girls Club buddies needed to leave early to watch their other BGC participants perform at the Thomasville Center for the Arts…so on a whim, we decided to join them. We were treated to a great performance involving singing and dancing. Project Impact campers helped pack the audience and let them know how much the performance was appreciated. We had a great day. We had a great week. Thank you for allowing your children to serve our community.
