Election night is almost here which means it is time for Thomasville History Center‘s Annual Chicken Pilau Dinner. Prepared and served on the History Center grounds over open fire in cast iron kettles, proceeds from this traditional southern supper supports the programs and preservation of our community’s rich history.
This event is held every Election Day – the first Tuesday of November. Do not miss this Thomasville tradition! Volunteers are needed to help prepare and serve the Pilau dinner. It’s also a great opportunity to work with other members of the History Center and community.
If you would like to participate as a volunteer at this fun event, please call Amelia at (229) 226-7664 or send her an email.
The History Center grounds and historic buildings, including the Smith Homestead and Ewart Bowling Alley, will also be open for touring during the event.
If you would like to purchase dinner, tickets are $8 and will go on sale soon. Dinner includes: pilau, coleslaw, pickles, crackers, and dessert.
