Do you like fresh vegetables and helping people? The Giving Garden is an outreach ministry of Thomasville First United Methodist Church that seeks to eliminate food insecurity and recognize assets. It’s a place to spend time together and be the agents in which God restores the world. During the week you are invited to weed, harvest, assess overall garden health, and bring the harvested food to the church for storage, which is then brought to the pay-what-you-can market on Saturday mornings from 8:30 am to 10 am (at the garden).
If you are not able to volunteer at any of the listed times, please email Drew West to make an alternative plan.
Also, the garden is funded by donations (pay-what-you-can) during the Saturday morning market. If you choose to come and get your vegetables from the Giving Garden and make a donation, that is a big help! There are many ways to contribute to the Giving Garden.
Don’t forget to tell them HOTC sent you!
***This is not a HOTC sponsored project. We are solely acting as referral service for our non-profits partners. COVID-19 information: Masks, gloves, and social distancing are highly encouraged. If you are immuno-compromised and/or requested to self-quarantine, feeling unwell, have any symptoms of illness, or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please stay home and join us at a future opportunity. Please follow all current health guidelines by the CDC and local/state officials, and respect those of our non-profit partners and community agencies.
