They will be partnering with local service organizations, churches, and ministries in Thomasville to help organize and facilitate multiple service project opportunities throughout the Thomasville community. Whether you enjoy painting, distributing food, yard work, playing games with kids, or just getting to know someone you have never met before, there is a project for you.
All leaders and volunteers will meet at Project Backyard’s office at 9:30 a.m., where breakfast & coffee will be provided as well as important instructions for each project location. Make sure to bring $10 to cover the cost of your Project Backyard T-shirt. (Purchase of t-shirt is not required to volunteer.)
Once you sign up to serve, Project Backyard will send you an e-mail with all the details you need to know.

Volunteers are needed to help restore the Nepenthic Society, South Georgia’s only wild animal rescue and shelter! *SIGN UP HERE!*
On the first Saturday of each month, volunteers will gather from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. to help address the following areas of concern:
- Weed eating
- Moving/cutting branches
- Move and organize items
- Mow and repair wood fence in large pasture
- Electrical work needed, if anyone is a licensed electrician!
Tools needed to help:
- Rakes
- Shovels
- Weed eaters
- Gloves
- Chainsaws
- Hammers

Junteenth of Thomasville – Thomas County is pleased to sponsor the 4th Annual Juneteenth Festival on Saturday, June 17 in partnership with the No More Shackles Empowerment Mentoring Program. Their goal is to educate everyone about African Americans’ freedom and achievements while encouraging continuous self-development and respect for all cultures. Learn more here.
This celebration is to create unity in the community, as well as to break pre-judgmental barriers about the origins of the African Americans’ path to freedom. This community-wide event will also offer a car & truck show, delicious food, vendors, local exhibitors, entertainment, and much more!
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FROM 10AM – 8PM TO HELP WITH:

Volunteers are needed to help restore the Nepenthic Society, South Georgia’s only wild animal rescue and shelter! *SIGN UP HERE!*
On the first Saturday of each month, volunteers will gather from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. to help address the following areas of concern:
- Weed eating
- Moving/cutting branches
- Move and organize items
- Mow and repair wood fence in large pasture
- Electrical work needed, if anyone is a licensed electrician!
Tools needed to help:
- Rakes
- Shovels
- Weed eaters
- Gloves
- Chainsaws
- Hammers

The Friends of Lost Creek Forest are looking for volunteers to help with maintaining the Thomasville Pollinator Garden on Mondays from 4:00 p.m. to dark and on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m.-Noon. You can learn about native plants and pollinators, and spend time with others in a great outdoor environment. Any age is welcome but HOTC does require any volunteers under the age of 16 to be accompanied by an adult. Bring loppers and work gloves if you have them. You are not required to stay the full length of time. Come when you can and stay for however long you would like.

Volunteers are needed to help restore the Nepenthic Society, South Georgia’s only wild animal rescue and shelter! *SIGN UP HERE!*
On the first Saturday of each month, volunteers will gather from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. to help address the following areas of concern:
- Weed eating
- Moving/cutting branches
- Move and organize items
- Mow and repair wood fence in large pasture
- Electrical work needed, if anyone is a licensed electrician!
Tools needed to help:
- Rakes
- Shovels
- Weed eaters
- Gloves
- Chainsaws
- Hammers
