Change a child’s story! Never Lost is currently seeking compassionate individuals interested in helping to change the story for a child in foster care by volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate® (CASA) in the CASA Kids Program. The CASA Kids volunteer program is generally a 12- to 18-month commitment to serve as a court appointed advocate for a child or young adult. After completion of a nationally-accredited training program, volunteers are appointed by a local judge to advocate for a child’s best interest in court.
As an advocate, you’ll get to know the child and caregivers on a personal level, observing health, safety, home care and emotional behaviors, and you’ll report your observations to the judge during the entirety of the child’s welfare case. Ideally, the end result for the child in your advocacy care is permanency in the preferred form of reunification with family, or through adoption or guardianship with a relative.
If you are interested in becoming a CASA volunteer, please call (229) 225-4338 for more details. You may also fill out the volunteer form online.
