Provides safe, decent, and affordable housing to community members. Volunteers are welcome to:
Help build and maintain houses,
Work in Re/Store.
The well-being of our volunteers and our community is very important to us. Like you, Hands On Thomas County, and our partners, are closely monitoring the COVID-19 concerns, and following the information and recommendations being released by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the State of Georgia. At this time, we will only be promoting or referring volunteers to select on-site volunteer needs. We will continue to reassess as health recommendations change.
When considering volunteering, we ask that you follow the current recommended safety and health practices, and respect those of HOTC and our partners.
Honor current public health recommendations. Learn the latest from the CDC and GDPH. To view the most current Executive Orders from the State of Georgia, click here. Hand sanitizing, face masks, and physical distancing are requested at all sites. For more recommendations, click here.
Please do not volunteer if you are sick. If you are not feeling well, have a fever, or visible signs of illness, please stay home to rest and recover – not only for your own health, but the health of non-profit staff, clients, volunteers, and those who may be immuno-compromised.
Keep it small. Organizations and groups play an important role in minimizing the spread of the disease. If you are committed to volunteering with others, groups of 20 or less are recommended.
You can still help. Know that non-profits always appreciate and need your assistance, but we all need to be careful, and creative, during times of crisis. For virtual and alternative volunteer ideas, click here.
