• THEIR MISSION: To focus on cultivating and maintaining native plants that provide nectar and larval host homes for a variety of pollinating insects including butterflies and bees.

• WHAT: Weekly volunteer workday. Needs will change each week/seasonally, but can include removing invasives, weeding the beds, spreading mulch/pine straw, enhancing current landscape and more.

• WHY: This is a public garden that is lovingly maintained by volunteers. It is also a great opportunity to learn more about pollinators and the important roll they play in our ecosystem.

• WHAT: Second Saturday volunteers will assist guests at various stations, distribute gallery guides and other handouts, facilitate the craft for the day and more.

• WHY: Free Second Saturdays are an opportunity for the community to visit the Center, experience their exhibitions, and engage in art activities in a fun atmosphere.

• DETAILS: Each Second Saturday of the month from August 2026-May 2027. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

• WHAT: On scheduled workdays they do projects such as raking around trees of concern and trimming overhanging limbs and brush along firelanes and trails to prepare for controlled burning.

• WHY: Birdsong relies on volunteer power to help maintain their 500+ acres of trails, gardens, meadows and on-site facilities.
