Attend this CASA volunteer training on February 6 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm OR at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm to learn how you can be a part of this important program.
CASAs complete a training program (no previous experience necessary) and are sworn in as Officers of the Court by a Juvenile Court Judge. They are then assigned a foster child or children in a sibling group to advocate for. CASAs investigate the circumstances that brought the child into care, meet with the child at least once a month, and submit written reports to the Juvenile Court Judge making recommendations based on what’s in the best interest of the child when the child’s case comes before the court, helping the judge make the most informed decision possible. CASA volunteers spend an average of 5 hours a month making a lifetime of difference for the abused and neglected child they serve. CASA volunteers must be at least 21 years old and not have criminal history.
