On this day, Americans of every age and background celebrate Dr. King through service projects that reflect the basic tenets of his life’s work: eradicating hunger and poverty, ensuring education and safe housing for everyone, and empowering people to make a positive difference in their own community. Groups of 10 or more, pleases contact our office. Volunteers under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Dress as a favorite book character and come read out loud!
Help sort food and pack pantry boxes for neighbors in need.
Help improve a historic home.
Donate a new (or VERY gently used – no writing or noticeable rips, bends, etc.) book that kids pre-school to high-school would love to read. Each book = 1 hour community service (limit 3).
Help distribute food to neighbors in need.
