Many people in our community, and surrounding areas, were adversely affected by this weekend’s storms — Our hearts go out to you. We have partnered with the Thomas County Emergency Management Agency and All Hands Volunteers, which provides disaster relief assistance, to help. Here’s what you can do:
– Man the Volunteer Reception Center – We are in need of volunteers for Saturday, February 4 from 8am – 12:30pm and/or 12:30pm – 5pm to help greet and register volunteers, and assist All Hands team as necessary. Please call our office at 229-226-5200 or email if you can help.
– Spontaneous Volunteers to help with clean up and debris removal. You will need to register to volunteer. For more information on volunteering to clean up, call 678-829-1211 to see what sites are available, or stop by the Thomas County EMS at 1202 Remington Avenue. Volunteers are welcome any day, especially Saturday!
– We need people to donate or make dinners each evening for the All Hands and AmeriCorps Volunteers which are currently (and through 2/11) using Thomasville as their home base. All dinner slots have been filled at this time. Thank you!
– Help us identify areas, homes, families and individuals in Thomas County and nearby areas who need help. If you, or anyone you know, needs FREE assistance with storm clean-up, please see the flyer (pictured left) or call 978-799-3947.
ALL VOLUNTEERS SHOULD DRESS FOR WORKING OUTSIDE, AND WEAR CLOSED-TOE SHOES. BRING A BAG LUNCH IF YOU WILL BE WORKING DURING THAT TIME!
We will update as we have more information. Please be flexible; this is a spontaneous volunteer event – we are all trying to figure it out together!
