Saturday, May 18, 60 disc golf players from as far away as Savannah, GA and Gainesville, FL descended on MacIntyre Park for the 3rd annual MacAttack Charity Disc Golf Tournament benefiting Hands On Thomas County. This was the first tournament sanctioned by the Professional Disc Golf Association, and brought players as young as 11 and as “classic” as 72, as well as a few local ladies.¬†Check out the article in the June 4 Times Enterprise¬†here.

Participants enjoyed breakfast compliments of Chandler’s, Lewis Produce and Flowers; played 1 round followed by a delicious bbq lunch from Granddaddy’s; then another 2 rounds. It was a long, but fun day with an Ace Pool, two Closest to the Pin holes, and two Hole-in-One cash prizes up for grabs. Players in all divisions received a Player’s Pack containing goodies including a State Farm disc; and most players walked away with prizes for a game well played.

Players also brought and donated new and used disc for the HOTC Disc Bank which will be used for clinics and exhibitions to get the community excited about and playing disc golf at our very own MacIntyre Park Disc Golf Course.

More than $4700 (net) was raised for Hands On Thomas County’s volunteer and community service programs! A big thank you to all the donors, sponsors, players and volunteers who helped make this such a great event! We look forward to another awesome tournament on December 7. Come on out and play with us! Players of all levels are welcome and encouraged to participate.
